Omega-3 PUFAs and gut microbiota: A preventive approach for colorectal cancer

چکیده

The influence of diet on the composition intestinal microbiota and related pathologies has been known for some time. Some classes nutrients, such as fatty acids belonging to omega 3 series, have particular effects bacteria that make up microbiota. ω-3 PUFAs affect gut in three different ways: by modulating type abundance bacteria, regulate SCFAs levels, alter levels proinflammatory mediators. Through these modalities, could be useful prevention diseases colorectal cancer (CRC). ability modulate inflammatory response, preserve integrity mucosa bacterial intestine, a preventive strategic approach hinder development CRC.

Gut Microbiota and Colorectal Cancer.

BACKGROUND Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a leading cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide whose incidence has increased rapidly in recent years. There is growing evidence that the complex gut microbiota community plays an important role in the development of intestinal tumorigenesis. SUMMARY This review aimed to explore the correlation between gut microbiota and CRC as well as to identify t...

Gut microbiota, epigenetic modification and colorectal cancer

Micro-organisms contain 90% of cells in human body and trillions foreign genes versus less than 30 thousand of their own. The human colon host various species of microorganisms, appraised at more than 1014 microbiota and contained of over a thousand species. Although each one's profile is separable, the relative abundance and distribution of bacterial species is the same between healthy ones, c...

Gut microbiota, inflammation and colorectal cancer

Colorectal cancer is the second-leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States and fourth-leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. Role of Gut Microbiota in Colorectal Cancer

Colorectal cancer (CRC), an age-related malignancy whose incidence increases markedly after the age of 50 years, is the third most common cancer worldwide and shows significant variations in the distribution globally [1,2]. More than 1.2 million new cases of colorectal cancer (CRC) are reported each year, most of which (~85%) occur sporadically as a result of the accumulation of mutations and e...

Linking Gut Microbiota to Colorectal Cancer

Pre-clinical and clinical data produce mounting evidence that the microbiota is strongly associated with colorectal carcinogenesis. Dysbiosis may change the course of carcinogenesis as microbial actions seem to impact genetic and epigenetic alterations leading to dysplasia, clonal expansion and malignant transformation. Initiation and promotion of colorectal cancer may result from direct bacter...
